Bill began building homes with his uncle, Ed Feder, back in 1962 in Madelia, Minnesota. Starting in 1968, he started his own business. Since that time, he and his family have moved to the Mankato, Minnesota area. Bill has extensive background in the building business and in Computer Aided Drafting. He has gone to school and now offers 3D CAD. This allows the clients to actually see what they are getting.
Bill has 4 daughters: Courtney, Hilary, Lindsay and Brittany. He lives in Mankato with his wife, Judy.

Hilary started with William Feder Homes, Inc. in July 2000. She is in charge of sales and marketing. She meets with the clients, helps them narrow down plan designs, helps them plan their new home and aids in color selections as well. She is also in charge of scheduling in sub-contractors and getting things done when they need to be.
Hilary lives in a new Wausau Home in Mankato with her husband and welcomed a baby boy in September 2006. Their home was featured in the Spring 2006 Tour of Homes and the Spring 2006 From House to Home Magazine.

The worst part of the building, which were out of your control, were the bank we were working with and the city...we told you, Bill, about this and you immediately went above and beyond a contractor's job to find a resolution for us. We actually had a bid for less; however, we felt comfortable with you...we felt we were a part of your family. We got along with you great and we don't regret a single thing."

Sure, they were more expensive, but they have high quality items figured in, are very personable, have a great product and right there, that was enough. "Bill, we just want to start by saying "You were right"! We ended up building with a local contractor whom we wish not to mention, and while his bid came in $12,000 less, it was $22,000 more than yours when we were finished. We should have listened to you from the beginning, because we would have been money ahead and would have been getting a much, much better product. I can't stress it enough how sorry we are and I just hope people realize that your bids are firm, and unless we change our minds, it won't run over! You had very adequate allowances figured in, where this builder ripped us off big-time. He low balled the bid so he could get our business. It worked, but let me assure you, when I hear of anyone building with him that I am going to refer them to you!"
