With our Design Center centrally located in the town of Ironwood, Woodtech Builder's build territory covers approximately 3,888 square miles in the western corner of Michigan's Upper Peninsula and Northern Wisconsin. Our territory extends from Porcupine Mountain State Park to Beaton to Fisherman's Landing, Ashland, Iron River, Bayfield and everything in between.

  • There are numerous beautiful waterfalls to see in Ironwood and the surrounding areas.
  • Chequamegon National Forest in Bayfield County is about 20 miles west of Ashland.

  • Over a million acres of public land is open to berry picking in the nearby Gogebic County Forest and Ottawa National Forest.
  • A variety of museums can be found in Ironwood, Wakefield, Hurley, Bessemer, and Ashland.

  • Ironwood is home to the "World's Tallest Indian" - A 52' tall fiberglass statue of tribal leader, Hiawatha.
  • While originally an iron mining town, Ironwood is now known for its downhill skiing resorts including Big Powderhorn, Blackjack, Indianhead, Mount Zion, and Whitecap.  There are also cross country skiing trails through the Wolverine Nordic Trail System.
  • There was 330 million tons of iron taken from just Gogebic County.
  • In 1920/1921 Ironwood's population alone was 19,000 people.  Today, that is the approximate population of Gogebic County.
  • The highest recorded temperature was 104 degrees in 1936 and the lowest was -41 degrees in 1982.
