Gives Supplies, Talent and Support for Varied Causes
Wausau, WI (June 1, 2007) - Marv Schuette, owner of Wausau Homes of Wausau, WI, is more than just a pioneer in systems built homes. He is a leader in caring. For instance, Schuette and Wausau Homes donated materials for a Habitat for Humanity home built during the 2006-2007 school year by students from D.C. Everest Senior High School of Rothschild, WI. It is the third Habitat home built by area high school students this year with materials donated by Schuette and Wausau Homes.
The three-way partnership between three area high schools, Wausau Homes and Habitat for Humanity began with the 2004-2005 school year. In addition to providing hands-on education to students enrolled in building construction programs at the schools, Schuette and Wausau Homes provided significant funding for the necessary power equipment each school needed in their building trades shops.
Habitat for Humanity states, “The families that become homeowners because of Mr. Schuette’s generosity are overwhelmed by their good fortune. Their lives have been altered beyond their expectations and they are indebted to him.”
Additionally, Wausau Homes is a main sponsor of the annual auction fundraiser for Kippenberg Creek Kids. The event is to be held June 23 in Gleason, WI, and will raise much-needed funds for creating outdoor adventures for terminally ill and disabled children. Involving hunting trips, fishing trips, snowmobile outings and other outdoor activities, these adventures are provided with food and lodging included, at no cost to the children and their families.
Reaching out to youth is not only a part of the culture at Wausau Homes, it’s simply a part of who Schuette is as a person. Marv and his wife Ruth were recently selected to receive a Gold Star Leadership Award, the top honor awarded by Junior Achievement Worldwide for their leadership and continuing support of Junior Achievement of Wisconsin.
