Rooms that Go with the Flow

Need a space that keeps up with your changing needs? Consider a home plan with a loft. The best thing about a loft—besides the square footage and value it adds to your home—is that you can use it as a game room, teen hangout or home office today, and convert it to a reading area, work-out space, or study in the future.

Open to the floor below, a loft also adds a spacious feel to your home and provides you with an expansive view of the main living area. So no matter what purpose your loft serves, you’re never too far from the action.

Affordable Luxury

Mansions have them. Luxury hotels have them. And now you can have one too. Designed Stairs, Inc. creates elegant, curved staircases that you can afford. Exquisitely crafted of rich hardwood and accented by your choice of baluster and newel styles, a staircase from Designed Stairs is a dramatic addition to your new Wausau Home. And you don’t have to be a Rockefeller to have one.

Your Guide to Building Terms

Do you understand all the terms your builder uses? Probably not! With so many industry-specific words, it can seem like a foreign language. We’re here to help. Each month, this section of our e-newsletter highlights a different term to help you become familiar with “builder-ese.”

When it comes to sloped ceilings, there are several terms you should know:

Hip

The external angle formed by the meeting of two sloping sides of a roof.

Dutch Hip

Not a full hip: The hip terminates short of the ridge, leaving a small gable end exposed.
