About Our Design Studio

Owner Dakota Sherry has worked in the construction and property management industries for over a decade. Over those 10 plus years, he has overseen the management of over 400 acres and 50 outbuildings for a local summer camp as well as taken on the primary maintenance of the rental properties of several landlords in the area. Dakota has demonstrated experience working with a certified electrician on projects ranging from service calls to remodels to new construction builds. In addition to management and electrical experience, he has also done framing and exterior work for new, single-family home builds as well as multiple multi-million dollar commercial apartments. Dakota has taken everything he’s learned in the field and opened his own business that offers clients solutions for anything from handy-man jobs, deck and fence builds, to large-scale home renovations.

About The Area We Serve

The Wausau Homes Boone Design Studio is located in Boone, IA. We work with homebuyers in Greene, Boone, and Story counties.

Boone has over 16 different city parks with the largest being McHose Park which is over 250 acres and houses an outdoor public pool, dog park, tennis and basketball courts, baseball diamonds, hiking trails and disc golf course, rental shelters, and multiple different playgrounds. Boone is also a few miles north of one of the most prestigious state parks in the state of Iowa, Ledges state parks host a campground, hiking trails, shelters, and riverfront property for fishing. Just north of Boone is Don Williams, which is a county park that has a 9-hole golf course, campground, hiking trails, and a no-wake lake for fishing and swimming. Boone is also 15 minutes west of Ames Iowa, which is where Iowa State University is set, and only 45 minutes north of the Des Moines Metro.
